The
Foundation administers a scholarship fund known as the "Oliver E. Young
Scholarship Fund." Mr. Young served for many years as an educator and
deeply believed that young adults should have access to a college education.
The granting of scholarships by the Foundation under Mr. Young's name
is designed to recognize his financial contribution to the Union Township
Community Action Organization, Inc., and to achieve his vision and dream
that all young adults be able to receive an appropriate undergraduate
education.
AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP
The amount of the scholarship granted to any student
shall not exceed $1500. No student shall receive from the Foundation
more than one (1) scholarship in any two (2) year period. In order to
be eligible for a subsequent scholarship, the applicant must be re-qualified
by the Board of Trustees and demonstrate that the applicant is in good
standing in the institution that the applicant is attending.
ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES
Students with the following qualifications shall be entitled
to receive scholarship assistance from the Foundation.

Graduate of Union Township public high school. |
| 2. |
Resides within Vauxhall/Union Township, New Jersey; |
| 3. |
Shall have minimum final high school grade point average of 2.0
or a C, as verified by the guidance department of the public high
school; |
| 4. |
Shall demonstrate financial need; |
| 5. |
Shall have participated in one (1) extracurricular activity (sport
or club) while attending high school. |

Application
for an Oliver E. Young Scholarship shall be made no later than fifteen
(15) days prior to the beginning of the semester in which the scholarship
will be made.
NOTIFICATION OF AVAILABILITY
The availability of the scholarship will be publicized through the guidance
department of the Union Township public high school, local newspaper
and various civic organizations.
